Eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) – 2019

Age Limit

appearing in the JEE (Main) examination there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed XII examination in 2017, 2018 or appearing in 2019 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) Examination – 2019. The candidates should satisfy themselves about the eligibility of age limit requirements of the Institutes in which he/she is desirous of taking admission.

Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)

those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017 or 2018; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 are eligible to appear in both January, 2019 and April, 2019 JEE (Main)-2019 Examination.
Candidates who passed Class 12th/ Qualifying examination in 2016 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2020 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2019.

Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination (QE)

didates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th /qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main)-2019. The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE (Main)-2019 and if such candidates appear in JEE (Main)-2019 by furnishing wrong information, their rank/result will not be declared.

For admission into LATERAL ADMISSION TO SECOND YEAR (THIRD SEMESTER) B.TECH :

For admission into 2nd year Degree courses in Engineering/Technology under Lateral Entry for Diploma holders:
A. Candidates must have passed or appearing in 2019, in three-year diploma examination (two year in case of Lateral entry Diploma) in Engineering/ Technology from State Council of Technical Education and Training (SCTE&VT), Odisha or from an AICTE approved Institute/ from a recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in appropriate branch of Engineering/ Technology.
B. All the native of Odisha candidates and the outside state candidates, who have completed their qualifying examination (diploma) from an Institute in Odisha having approval from the competent authority are eligible for admission under Lateral Entry in state category. Outside state candidates who have passed diploma from approved institutes of other states are allowed to take admission in Private Engineering colleges as per their OJEE rank. However, a separate merit list shall be published for such outside state candidates and they will be allowed for admission in the remaining vacant seats, if any, after the state merit list is fully exhausted through centralized counseling conducted by the OJEE committee. Results of final diploma examination must be available on the date of document verification during the counselling.
C. There is no reservation of seats in any of the categories/sub categories for admission into Lateral Entry of various courses.
D. Candidates with Diploma certificate can take admission in the vacant seats of 1st year B.Arch programme, provided they have a valid NATA score and have secured a minimum average of 50% mark in their diploma course .
E. Further, the candidates who have passed diploma in Engineering and technology from an AICTE approved Institution and having a rank in lateral entry shall also be eligible for admission to the first year of the Bachelor course, subject to the availability of vacancies in the first year, in case, all the available lateral entry seats in all the institutes are exhausted. However, the admission shall be based strictly on OJEE-- 19 - 2019 ranks only.


For admission into 1st year MBA :

Candidates must have passed or appearing in 2019, the Bachelor’s Degree examination of minimum three years duration from any University of Odisha or from a recognized University as defined by UGC/AICTE.

OR

A Candidate must have Passed or appearing in 2019, the Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy examination of minimum four/five years duration in any discipline from any University of Odisha or from a recognized University as defined by UGC/ AICTE. The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) at the qualifying exam ination.

There is no age limit to for admission to MBA course.

Eligibility for 1st semester Diploma in Engineering & Technology admission

  • The minimum age to apply for Odisha DET 2019 should be 14 years as on the date of admission year except mining & drilling.
  • The applicants must have passed 10th or 12th standard examination from a recognized Board & University of BSE, Odisha scoring minimum 35% marks in Mathematics, Science & English and minimum 30% in rest of the subjects.

Eligibility for 3rd semester (LE) Diploma in Engineering & Technology admission

  • The applicants must have cleared higher secondary or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha.
  • The applicants also have passed secondary exam scoring minimum 35% marks from BSE, Odisha.
  • The applicants applying for Odisha DET 2019 must have attained the age of 14 years as on the year of admission.
  • There will be no provision of upper age limitation.
